CALVIN: So, my experience with getting the vaccine was like the first day of college, actually, because you had all of these people here from different backgrounds, and we're all here for this one common goal.

CALVIN: At first, I was hesitant about receiving the vaccine, just due to historical facts with African Americans with vaccinations and health care.

CALVIN: But I know someone who had COVID and in walking them through, like their care and being there for them through that whole experience, in doing my research, and me talking to my doctor, it was the next logical best thing for me to do for myself, to make sure that I remain healthy. And I was able to, you know, continue to care for my pets.

CALVIN: I’m glad that the pandemic had a light at the end of the tunnel. When I was fully vaccinated, even though you have to wait two weeks, once I got my card out, it was like – “oh, praise Jesus. This is over.” And so it just it felt like a weight was lifted off of me.
