CHRIS: My doctor discovered that I had a slight curve in my spine. And this was probably three or four years before it actually became a very serious problem. During that period of time, I lost a lot of my ability to walk.

CHRIS: My scoliosis and my back problem was so advanced and it happened so fast and rapidly that he felt that my best option was to go to a university where they had a teaching hospital and doctors who were familiar with the type of surgery that I would need in order to correct the problem. We went to the University of Utah and spoke with a doctor there who was highly recommended.

CHRIS: Before I came to UnitedHealthcare, the plan I had previously would not allow me to go to the doctor that I wanted to see. They refused that coverage altogether. To be told that, no, they would not cover it, that was--that was really very scary.
