JULIE: It's the part of my health care that I am responsible for.

JULIE: So it's the practices and the action that I put into place that protect my mental health, my physical health, my spiritual health, because for me, all three of those aspects of my well-being are really important.

help start a self-care routine?
JULIE: I think the most important thing is that you have an established schedule and you stick to it.

JULIE: You might not think we do in our head, but our bodies like a schedule.
ON SCREEN TEXT: Follow through
JULIE: Just keep on following through, and sometimes, it's gonna take you doing something for, you know, maybe a considerable amount of time before you start seeing the benefits really pay off, but just hang with it.

JULIE: It's really important to start small, because starting small and just putting one foot in front of the other is more likely to ensure that you're gonna be successful in really integrating that into your routine and your practice.

self-care routine with kids at home?
JULIE: And I know one of the things that really works for a couple of my family members is to include their kids in the routine.

JULIE: It's instilling in them at a really, really young age that there are things that they can do to self-soothe.
