Donated Wheels: What it Feels Like to Be a Kid

Do you remember the day you got your first bike? Dozens of kids experienced that childhood milestone, thanks to Onbikes and UnitedHealthcare.

UnitedHealthcare employee volunteers spent a day in December building bikes for 50 kids served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.

“We like to put as many bikes in the hands of at-risk kids as possible,” said Sarah Breseman, executive director of Onbikes, a Tampa-based nonprofit organization that has donated 3,500 bikes to at-risk and foster kids.

The kids received properly fitted bikes and helmets. Local law enforcement provided a safety demonstration before sending the kids home with an experience that will last a lifetime.
