‘Tis the season of picking the perfect gifts with added purpose. You can boost your giving impact twofold by choosing items that support others in need of a helping hand.
Each year, the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) publishes and sells a variety of children’s books, plush animals and games. One hundred percent of the proceeds fund grants that help families pay for their children’s medical expenses not covered by their health insurance. In the last 10 years, UHCCF has awarded 15,000 of these grants – valued at more than $39 million – to children and families nationwide, covering treatments associated with cancer, diabetes, autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy, among others.
Pay it forward this season by choosing an Oliver & Hope storybook, a family-friendly joke book (laughter is the best medicine, after all) or even holiday cards designed by young artists. These purchases will go a long way to bring goodwill to children near and far. And, you’ll feel great knowing you’ve helped make a positive difference.
