Advancing health care often stems from a single idea — one that identifies a pressing challenge in health care and pushes for a solution.
The UnitedHealthcare Accelerator, which began on Aug. 15, helps those with a passion to modernize the health care system develop these ideas with the help of executive mentorship and support.
Now in its fourth year, the four-month-long Accelerator program takes 10 rising startups and matches them with mentors from UnitedHealth Group and the broader health care ecosystem for an immersive learning experience.
Of the companies participating, 70% are led by founders who identify as women or BIPOC (black, Indigenous and people of color).
Watch the video to hear from three of the participating companies:
- Delfina: A comprehensive data platform for pregnancy care, Delfina, helps predict a member’s risk for adverse outcomes and supports them with personalized care.
- Pluto Health: Pluto Health bridges health data and brings personalized insights to help address care gaps.
- Tembo Health: Tembo Health provides senior living residents with in-home urgent and chronic care via telemedicine.
