People are constantly searching for new ways to help keep their skin healthier and youthful. The sun plays a major role in aging our skin. No matter if you’re running errands or enjoying a day poolside, the sun can affect not only the looks of your skin but also – more importantly – the health of your skin. Sunscreen is the key to help prevent premature aging as well as skin cancer.
According to The Skin Cancer Foundation, it’s recommended that you apply sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher to help adequately protect your skin on a daily basis.
Other preventive actions to consider taking to help keep your skin healthier and youthful-looking include:
- Applying self-tanner rather than getting a tan.
- Not smoking.
- Eating a well-balanced, nutritiously-rich diet.
- Drinking less alcohol.
- Exercising regularly.
- Washing and cleansing your face twice a day, and after sweating or swimming.
- Applying a facial moisturizer daily.
