Helping to support whole-person wellness for Maryland businesses


UnitedHealthcare recently teamed up with the Maryland Chamber of Commerce to launch a four-part webinar series, “Healthy Employees, Healthy Business,” focused on supporting whole-person wellness as a corporate model for success.

Each installment featured a panel of UnitedHealthcare experts and Maryland business leaders exploring best practices to implement and maximize integrated benefits solutions in an effort to help deliver more value and more personal support for employees.

“In a time when companies large and small are looking for ways to attract and retain talent, this series offers practical steps employers can take and strategies designed to help employees get healthier, simplify their experience and lower costs for everyone,” said Joe Ochipinti, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Mid-Atlantic. “From responding to changes in the workforce to implementing a wellness program that drives real results, the “Healthy Employees, Healthy Business” webinars offer rich insights for business of all sizes to meet their individual needs.”

The series was hosted over a 10-month period and included:

  • Building a workplace wellness plan (Dec. 7, 2021): Addressing common questions from business leaders, panelists explore various wellness program options to promote physical activity, address mental health, boost company culture and engage employees and creating a workplace wellness plan can work for your company, large or small.
  • Physical wellness for a happier workplace (March 3, 2022): This installment focuses on initiatives employers can employ to motivate individual physical wellness including providing access to fitness centers, employee fitness challenges and campaigns, hosting family-friendly vents or using wearable devices to reward physical activity.
  • The forces shaping the future of work – and how employers are responding (July 20, 2022): Led by health care industry leaders, viewers heard from the Advisory Board on the trends and data behind the current, and future, state of the workforce. Advisory Board experts explore how companies can adapt and improve business performance in the wake of COVID-19, the Great Resignation, social justice issues and rising inflation. *This webinar is not available for viewing
  • 2023 benefit trends to help attract and retain talent (Sept. 20, 2022): The final installment centered around health benefit trends and options for employers to explore during the 2023 open enrollment season in order to provide competitive benefits for their employees, drive value for their company and optimize their full suite of employee benefits.
